Turning health data into clear maps and smarter actions
EDDGAR is an innovative, interactive mapping platform developed by ECEWS in 2022 to transform how health and development teams operate. It helps teams see where health services are working well—and where more support is needed. By putting routine program indicators onto easy-to-read maps, EDDGAR shows patterns across communities and facilities so health managers and field teams can act faster and plan better. EDDGAR provides near real-time insights, making location intelligence accessible for everyday decision-making by everyone, not just data specialists. It works on web and mobile, with updated spatial layers that reflect our program footprint
The Challenge EDDGAR Solving
In places like Nigeria and much of Africa, where resources are often limited, important decisions are frequently made using incomplete information or personal stories, rather than solid facts. Traditional data collection tools and dashboards show numbers but often hide where gaps exist. This lack of clear, factual information means that resources aren’t always used effectively, help is delayed, and results aren’t as good as they could be. Without a single, easy-to-use tool that brings together location-based data and advanced mapping technology, stakeholders like NGOs, policymakers, and field workers are unable to make timely, informed decisions that drive sustainable impact.
To truly help communities and ensure everyone receives the support they need, we must understand where services are available and where they fall short. Without a clear, map-based view, planning can be slow and reactive, leading to unequal or poor service delivery. This is the big problem EDDGAR aims to fix.
