Our Core Values

Our Core Values Include Integrity, Team Work, Equity, Excellence, Innovation and Learning.

In 2001, a visionary group from diverse backgrounds in healthcare, education, and community development founded the Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS) to support vulnerable communities in Nigeria. From 2006 to 2010, ECEWS launched initiatives such as healthcare programs, education projects, and economic empowerment efforts, which attracted partnerships and laid the foundation for future collaborations. Building on early successes, ECEWS expanded its reach by establishing headquarters in Uyo and a corporate office in Abuja, diversifying its funding sources with support from international entities like USAID and the World Bank.

Since 2001, ECEWS has proudly served as an indigenous non-profit committed to enhancing the lives of Nigerians through improved access to education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

Operating across 17 states in Nigeria, spanning the South-South, South East, South West, and North Central regions, ECEWS has forged strong partnerships with notable institutions such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC), the World Bank, and the Federal Government of Nigeria. With a dedicated network of health and allied professionals, as well as a solid reputation among funders, competitors, and partners, ECEWS continues to make significant strides in its mission.
