The National Office of the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) conducted a Data Quality Assurance (DQA) visit to ECEWS-supported health facilities in Cross River State from 14 to 20 June 2026. The primary objectives of the visit were to strengthen the capacity of Community-Based Coordinators (CBCs), verify and validate program data, and assess the activities and performance of Mentor Mothers across supported facilities. The exercise aimed to improve data accuracy, enhance service delivery, and strengthen the quality of community-based HIV interventions in the state.
During the visit, the NEPWHAN team engaged with facility staff, CBCs, Mentor Mothers, and other key stakeholders to review program documentation, assess data management and reporting systems, identify gaps, and provide supportive feedback for continuous quality improvement. The team also evaluated adherence to reporting standards and implementation guidelines to ensure the reliability and integrity of program data.

The findings and recommendations from the assessment are expected to contribute significantly to improved program performance, stronger community systems, enhanced data quality, and better health outcomes for people living with HIV in Cross River State.
