In the week of 1–5 June 2026, the pharmacy and state teams, led by the State Technical Advisor for Care and Treatment, conducted a high-level advocacy meeting with the newly appointed Director of Pharmaceutical Services and the Director of Central Medical Stores. The meeting represented a timely and strategic opportunity to establish a strong working relationship with incoming leadership and to align priorities around the delivery of pharmaceutical services across ECEWS-supported facilities. 

At the heart of the engagement were discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration, improving coordination, and ensuring alignment between ECEWS programme objectives and the broader pharmaceutical service delivery framework within the state. Key areas of focus included supply chain management, antiretroviral medication availability, and the seamless flow of pharmaceutical commodities to supported facilities, to prevent stock-outs and treatment interruptions for people living with HIV. 

Both newly appointed directors expressed openness to sustained engagement and a commitment to working closely with the ECEWS team to address existing gaps and drive improvements in pharmaceutical service delivery across the state. This advocacy meeting marks an important foundation for a strengthened institutional relationship, one that will be critical to ensuring uninterrupted access to life-saving medications and maintaining the integrity of the HIV treatment cascade across all ECEWS-supported communities in Lagos State.
