STRENGTHENING GBV SERVICES AND DOCUMENTATION

STRENGTHENING GBV SERVICES AND DOCUMENTATION AT SUPPORTED FACILITIES: 48 SITES BENEFITTED

To enhance Gender-Based Violence (GBV) services and reporting at MCGL- supported facilities, the ECEWS MCGL team took a hands-on approach. They conducted supervisory visits to 48 facilities in Q3 2023, aligning with MCGL's goal to strengthen GBV services and support local institutions. The program also targets campaigns against Child, Early, and Forced Marriages (CEFM), offers family planning and reproductive health care, all while emphasizing sustainability and effectiveness through improved institutionalization and responsiveness to population needs.

During site visits, the ECEWS team conducted practical mentoring using role- playing to refresh facility staff's skills in client screening for potential GBV cases. They guided staff in delivering clinical services to GBV survivors and reviewed GBV reporting tools with them. This process identified and addressed service and documentation gaps in real-time. By quarter-end, the ECEWS team engaged with 132 health workers from 48 facilities across four LGAs, enhancing their abilities to serve their communities in GBV and reproductive health matters effectively and compassionately.
