We seek applications from qualified persons for the following position under the Global Fund National Alignment for HIV Impact;

Overall Job Function:

Will be responsible for the financial, Risk management aspects of Global Fund (GF program including the responsibility of enforcing compliance with budget, work plan and ECEWS financial guidelines and policies; participating in stocktaking activities and on-the-spot checks; enforcing transparency of operations and reporting all exceptions to stakeholders and management; affirming or otherwise to the reliability of financial and operational reporting; tracking audit trail and providing feedback regarding the accuracy of the financial reports; monitoring internal controls and financial systems and ensuring reliability. His specific duties are but not restricted to the following;

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plan
  • Obtain, analyse and evaluate accounting document, reports, data and chart of account for accuracy.
  • Document process and prepared audit findings memorandum.
  • Conduct follow up audits to monitor management interventions on audit findings.
  • Review ECEWS internal controls and procedures
  • Analyse and evaluate the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures
  • Review, develop and recommend changes in accounting systems and controls of a business
  • Check and inspect the accuracy of accounts receivable and payable ledgers
  • Study and test software and hardware systems of ECEWS
  • Develop and maintain the clients and business partners’ databases
  • Create and manage budgets, statement of financial position and other related financial statements
  • Analyse and recommend changes in internal audit controls
  • Ensure compliance with local, national and federal audit policies and regulations
  •  Identify and evaluate procedures and policies in tax reporting processes
  •  Review financial reports and schedules in accordance with standards and requirements for external reviews.
  • Establish working relationships with company’s staff, business partners and client
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisors

Reporting & Supervision:

The position reports to the Internal Auditor.



  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent
  • CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIA, CIMA, CFE or any other relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • 2-5 years relevant experience
  • Up to 2-4 years’ experience in internal control functions
  • Knowledge of IIA’s International Professional Practices Framework is an advantage
  • Knowledge of local and donor contractual requirements and regulations Knowledge of generally accepted accounting, budgeting and fiscal control theory and practices.
  • Budget development skills with multi funding sources and general ledger skills.
  • Relevant software skills to include automated accounting software and database spreadsheets and Management Information Systems.
  • Ability to work with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, and recipients of assistance.
  • Ability to report to supervisor on a regular basis
  • Time management skills, both in planning and organizing work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial and internal control issues to staff with little or no financial background.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to use software tools to present data clearly and concisely.
  • Fluent English speaker with superior spoken and written communications; candidate must be comfortable speaking in front of large audiences
