Past Project

This project key interventions were; Capacity building, SPHR, VAWG, SGBV HIV Prevention and linkages to care and treatment, PMTCT and FP. A total of 2810 individuals including sex workers, men who have sex with men, and people who inject drugs received HTS and TB services, 75KPs tested positive to HIV and were successfully linked to KP Friendly HIV/TB care and treatment centers. The ECEWS confidence center situated at Calabar Street in Uyo is linked to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) supported addiction drop in Centre (ADC) for treatment of PWID based on consent.

ECEWS partnered with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in building capacity for integration of Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV services for Health Care Workers in Benue, Kaduna, Akwa-Ibom and Cross River States. Under the project, Capacity of health workers (149) were built to provide integrated/HTC services in Benue and Cross River States.

 

Private health facilities (13) in Benue State have been supported for FP/HTC integration, including linkages with the Ministry of Health for Family planning service Commodities. A Family Planning project on the scale up of Sayana press contraceptives; a new contraceptive injectable in Akwa Ibom State among Young Girls and Women was implemented over a 6 months period with over 1000 young girls reached with services.
