Spotlight on Dr. Okezie

Dr. Okezie Onyedinachi, a multi-national physician of over 22 years is the Deputy Project Director; LOCATE Project; ECEWS, Nigeria.

As the Deputy Project Director, Dr. Onyedinachi provides leadership and direction for an exhaustive integration of health care services, program management as well as an organized strategy for a continuous quality care and support in the LOCATE project.

Until his appointment as Deputy Project Director, LOCATE project; ECEWS, Dr. Onyedinachi was the senior PMTCT program Manager, Center for Integrated Health Program (CIHP) and at a time worked as a consultant with ICAP, Lesotho, South Africa, in implementing public health programs to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS epidemic. He works closely with facilities and community-based partners while assisting in the development of an exhaustive, all-encompassing community care system programs to promote, improve and maintain community health.

Apart from using multi-disciplinary health care teams to put together a viable system that is patient-focused and working with community agencies and organizations, Dr Onyedinachi ensures that well organized community services are provided in all ECEWS supported sites. These services include but are not limited to; care & support, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) services, HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT) and prevention services through Community Based Organizations (CBOs).

Dr. Onyedinachi graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka as a Medical Doctor in 1991. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine from the University of Pretoria, a Post Graduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Health from WITS University and Master of Philosophy Degree in HIV/AIDS Management from the Stellenbosch University, Cape Town, South Africa. He is a good personal communicator, with a certificate in interpersonal skill from Lagos Business School.

In 2013, Dr. Onyedinachi emerged the face of CIHP and in 2015; He received an Award of Excellence from ECEWS.

He is a member, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) and Association of Private and General Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (APGMPN). He is happily married with five children.
